Hold em is a game where each player starts with two down cards. However, before they even deal, there are two players that are forced to put out bets, known as the blinds. There is typically a small blind, and a big blind, and these are forced bets that players have to put out, before the hand is even dealt. Each hand, the blinds move from player to player, around the table, so that it's fair. After the blinds are posted, which means the blinds have been put up, and actually are out in front of the players, the hand begins. The dealer gives each player two cards, one at a time. So, the cards are dealt, and each player is given two down cards. They then have to choose whether to stay in the hand, or fold. A round of betting then takes place starting immediately after the big blind, which is known as under the gun, because they're forced to act first. Players choose to either stay in the hand by calling the big blind, meaning they put in the same amount of chips, or increasing the size of the wage of this round, often based on their hole cards, by raising. Alternatively, and most commonly, players decide not to participate in the hand, put in no further chips into the pot, and fold their cards. Once all the players have acted, three cards are dealt, known as the flop. These are community cards that any player in the hand can use. After the three community cards, known as the flop, appear, another round of betting takes place, except this time, there's no forced bets, like there are pre-flop, with the blinds. Players have two options, they can check, or they can bet. Checking is when you choose to let the other players act before you, typically indicated by saying, "I check," or tapping the table. If all the players in the hand check, then the next card comes, which nobody put money to see. The next card, is known as the turn. If instead of checking, one of the players had bet, then they would force the other players in the hand to commit more chips in order to continue, otherwise, those players would have to fold, and the player who made the bet would be awarded the pot. Otherwise, if one or more players call the bet, the hand will continue to the turn. The turn is another additional community card, that unlike the flop, comes off as one card, instead of three. However, like the flop, a betting round takes place in the same way. If all the players in the hand check on the turn, or there's a bet, and it's called, the final community card comes, known as the river. The river is another single community card after which a round of betting takes place, just like it did on the flop, and the turn. The only difference is, that after this round of betting, if two or more players are still in the hand, then a showdown occurs, where all the players still in the hand, after the river, show their cards, and the dealer awards the pot to the best five card hand. So, there you go, the down and dirty rules to poker. Like Mike Sexton says, Poker Hall of Famer, and Ambassador for the World Poker Tour, "It takes a minute to learn, and a lifetime to master."

Check out the official app http://apple.co/1HCxrup Watch more How to Play Poker videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/515019-How-to-Count-Poker-Chips-Poker-Tutorials Hey, I'm Nicky Numbers, professional poker player and today I'm going to show you how to count your chips and more importantly how not to count your chips. So let's say you've just won a nice pile of chips here. The first thing you want to do is sort your chips by color. Start with the biggest chips first, because those are the most valuable and the one that you would suffer from losing the most. So we're going to say black chips are the highest, followed by green, followed by red, followed by white. So I'm starting with the biggest chips to protect them. Now every once in a while as you're stacking them you're going to see a dirty stack here. A dirty stack is when a chip is mixed in. After you're done stacking your chips you always want to look them up and down and make sure you don't have any mixed in, because it can result in you betting or calling or raising the wrong amount. So once you have your chips all sorted and stacked, what you want to do is break them off into stacks of five. So I take five chips, and then start sizing them up next to each other. I want to see how many stacks of five I can get. Whenever you get to four stacks of five, that's a stack of 20, and that's one full stack. Then what you want to do is size the other chips against it. So I can see that I have one full stack of black, one full stack of green, but I don't know how many white I have, I don't know how many red I have, and I don't know how many extra I have. So I'm going to take these green and cut them into stacks of ten. So now I have a stack of ten green, and I can either put that on top or on the side. Then I have one extra green which I'm going to keep in excess. Some people, they don't keep stacks of five or ten. They just put them all as excess here. I like to keep stacks of ten because it makes me always know how many chips I have in front of me. Now I can see I have a stack of ten white, and I do not have enough red, so I'll throw those on top and do something like this. Now what you don't want to do when you're stacking chips is start counting them one by one. And you often see people do this. And then even when they have all their chips stacked and counted and neatly arranged, you see them do things like flip through them, like they're wondering how many black chips they have and they're like... That takes forever, and it makes you look like you have no idea what you're doing at the poker table, so it makes you a target. Learning to stack your chips in fives, and then sizing up against it is the best technique. Another thing you don't want to do at the table is combine two stacks and mix them. So you do not want to have a stack of some green and some black. This is often called barber poleing or peacocking, and in many situations like tournaments it's absolutely not allowed. It's also very frowned-upon, even in cash games or any other setting where it might not be heavily regulated, because you're deliberately trying to keep your opponent from knowing how many chips you have. The other thing you want to do is make sure any large denomination chips you have can be clearly seen by everybody at the table. If you get enough chips and you get five stacks of 20, then you'll have a full rack. An entire rack is a hundred chips, and if you have a rack of that denomination, when you're playing poker they have plastic racks in poker rooms where you can just fill all your chips in there. So based on how many chips you have you can know how many racks you'll need, and you'll also know what someone's talking about when they say, "oh, I won a rack". Follow these techniques and you'll learn to not give yourself away as an amateur at the table, because if you stack your chips poorly everybody is going to know that you're new at the game.

In this video, a gambling expert explains the basic strategy of playing Texas Hold 'em. It's up to you to work on your poker face. Hey, guys. I just want to go into a quick Texas Hold 'em poker strategy. This is very rough and basic, just enough to get you by if it's your first time playing. Right now, we've hit the button set and blinds are already in place. And we'll deal everything face-up just so everybody could see what's going on here. So, a hand like this. Generally, the hands wouldn't be shown here. But this guy with no knowledge of anything that's going on. Right now, with four people at the table, he may feel that he's got a pretty good hand right now. He may opt to raise or he may want to just call and see if he can improve this by getting another 5. But I'll just place a bet right here and say he calls. A hand like this generally, any hand with, that's like 2-6 or 2-7 or 3-8, or anything with just a bunch of low numbers. They're generally considered really bad hands to play. So we'll say this guy is going to fold. If you were to treat your poker hand like a blackjack hand like Aces are 1 or 11 or face cards are 10. Basically, if something adds up to 19, then it's a good hand to play. Anything less than that, you probably want to stay away from. Anyway, with a pair of Aces, he's got a monster hand, so he's going to want to raise. So, we'll have him raise 10 here, because, I don't know whatever stakes you're going to play that this same rule will apply. And then, the player here with the Jack-10, they're both of diamonds, they're both connected. He's got a good possibility of getting maybe a straight or a flush by the river. So, let's say he's going to come along. And the guy with the 5 thinks he's going to get lucky, so he's going to come along as well. This is all going to come here in the pot. One card gets burned. And now, the guy with the Aces. He's what's called an overpair. The board has got a 4, Jack and a 3. The Jack is the highest card here. He's got an overpair to the board, so even if somebody like this guy, who's got a Jack. He's going to think he's good at this point, so if he sits and bets, say 20, then the guy with the Jacks is probably going to want to come along with this. Now, the guy with the lower pair, with the smaller pair. He came in with the intention of getting a set. A set is three of a kind with two in your hand and one on the board. So since he didn't get that, he'd probably want to fold this here. So now, this money goes into the pot, the other card gets burned, here it comes up. It's a King. So now, this guy might want to bet again. Say he wants to bet 40, because he still an overpair to the board. The guy with the Jacks, right now. If somebody else had a King, he may have him beat. He's going to think really hard about it. He says "Okay, well whatever. I came here to gamble." So he ends up calling. Another card gets burned, river comes up the King. All right, so now, with the Aces, the only thing he would be worried about is if he had a couple of Jacks or if he had a King in his hand. So say he's afraid of the King, he decides to check. And then this guy decides to check, as well. So what ends up happening, the cards get flipped over and then, this is the best hand which beats his Kings and Jacks. So Kings with the Aces would take the hand. Generally, if you have a really good hand, it's a good idea to bet. Like a lot of times, new players will try to get really fancy and act like that you don't have anything. And then, just spring traps on people. But if you're new to the game, basically just bet out your cards. If the cards start going your way, then you will win. That's a very basic strategy for Texas hold 'em.

In this video, a gambling expert explains the basic rules of Texas Hold 'em. It's up to you to work on your poker face. Texas Hold 'Em is one of the most popular games in Poker today. It's played in card rooms all over the world and home games all over also. I just want to go over the rules of Texas hold 'em with you. First you need a table. Get some players with you. The first thing that we do you either put up an ante or a blind. Basically there are two ways of forcing action. An ante is where every player at the game would put in a certain amount. In this case five dollars that automatically goes in the pot. Blind is a little different where the two people next to the button, which I'll explain that in a second, would put one small one and one big one. This is just to make sure there's something going on in every hand because otherwise if people don't like the hands and everybody just keeps folding no money changes and it's kind of boring that way. The dealer button, if you're in a home game you can play this with your friends and generally the deck would be passed around from player to player to player and everybody would have a chance to deal. In games where you've got the dedicated folks, like myself, then the dealer represents that deck being in the player's hand and then the dealer takes care of all the action. Here we're going to have blinds of five and ten. Players get two cards dealt face down. Dealer doesn't play. Then everybody will check their hands making their bets or decisions based on what their hand strength was. So the big blind, that's the minimum that people would have to bet to commit. Here, say they want to bet ten. This guy doesn't want to play for whatever reason so he folds the cards, they come in my way. Then he wants to bet. Now, as the big blind he already had ten dollars in he has the option, he could check, basically making an additional bet of zero, or he could raise, and we'll go into raising in the next hand - the next round here. So he decides to check, his money goes in the pot. One card gets burned, this is just a security thing. Back in the days of Poker where people, like in the Wild West, used to cheat and they'd be dealing from the bottom of the deck and things like that. The card burned on the top makes it a little harder for somebody to cheat at the game. So that's just a security measure that's been added to every game. Then three cards are dealt face up. This is a flop, community cards for all the players. I don't see what these guys have here, but say if the gentleman here has a four he now has a pair of fours. If the person here has got a queen, he now has a pair of queens. If he's got a jack and a four he now has two pair. With the community cards there now have the option they can bet again. Say this guy wants to bet ten. Now he can bet, or he can fold. Say he decides to raise. So now he's going to tell everybody at the table he's raising. Then he wants to put out twenty. Now the player here has to either put in twenty or fold. Now the gentlemen here has to put at least ten or fold. Say he decides to call, which is matching the twenty, and the player here decides to do the same. Then this goes in the pot as well. Another card gets burned and we've go the fourth card, this is called the turn. It's another community card that everybody at the table can use. Say for the purposes here that everybody just decides to check. Everybody wants to check. He checks so he bets nothing and then they're just kind of following along. In the case that nobody bets then the fifth card, which is called the river, and that's it for me and the card. Then players get the option that they could check or bet. So say somebody wants to bet ten and let's just say that these two guys decide to call. This money goes into the pot and now the players here get to show their hands. In this case he's got an eight and a two so he doesn't make any pairs. In the case here he's got an ace, but then he's just basically playing for high card because he doesn't have a pair. Then the player here, he's got a pair of nines. So this would be the best five card hand he could make with a pair of nines, ace, queen, jack. The cards would be swept up and the pot would be shift to the player. Then the button goes to the next player here and then play would continue. That's how you play hold 'em.

Like these Gambling Lessons !!! Check out the official app http://apple.co/1HCxrup Watch more How to Gamble at Casinos videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/511505-Blackjack-Mistakes-to-Avoid-Gambling-Tips Inexperienced blackjack players tend to make the same mistakes, and those mistakes can cost them dearly. In this video, a gambling expert tells you what those missteps are and how you can avoid them. Knowing these pitfalls can mean the difference between going home a winner or being a big loser. Hey guys. I wanted to go into some mistakes to avoid at the Blackjack table. There are a few. It's not as daunting as you may think it is. It's not really a whole lot of things that you need to avoid, but I just wanted to touch up on the basic ones. Here we've got a wide set of circumstances where a lot of people will do the wrong thing. In the case here, it's a player here with a 15. One of the big mistakes that players will get a little too passive with their hands. 14s, 15s, 16s. Even when the dealer is, it doesn't matter what the dealer's showing, they're just afraid that they're going to bust, so they're not even going to bother. And that's not really a good way that you'd want to play, because, generally, with the dealer showing a card like, say, this 9, he's going to make a hand more often than he's not going to make a hand, so by just deciding, I'm not going to hit my 15, in the long run, you're going to end up costing yourself a lot of money. In the case here, he hit, but he ends up over 21. But at least he gave himself a shot against the 9, as opposed to just being a sitting duck with a 15. A lot of times another thing players will do, too, is they'll be a little too aggressive with their hand. Where a player will have a soft 14, versus a 9, and he'll do something like he'll just want to double down on it. He just wants to get more money out. Which, that never works out very well, because any hand where you can't make at least a 20, it's generally not a hand you're going to want to double down on. True, he can make a 6 or a 7 with the 3, but if he misses, which, most of the time, he will; like, now, he's got a 12. He's stuck with a 12, nothing you can do about it, and he's got 400 out, versus a 9. Another thing that people want to do, and this falls under the category of aggressive, is do moves like splitting 10s. Where, everybody at the table probably winces as you do it, you split these 10s, now you're looking for two 10s or better. Now you've got a 15, and then you elect to hit the 15. He lucks out with a 20, but then this hand here, he's got 18. He's behind. So if the dealer ends up making a hand, then he will more than likely just push, as opposed to if he would have won straight out with a 20. Another thing that falls under aggressive plays would be splitting too often. So a lot of times people will want to split a pair of 7s because they want to get more money out, just for whatever reason. So now, you've got one hand that was okay, the 14, but now instead, now you've got a hand where you turned your marginal hand, now you've got two of them that you're stuck with. So, if he decides he wants to hit the 16, now he busts, now he's got a 17 that he's stuck with. What's going to happen now, he's hoping he had a 19, he did, and he's got a 14, dealer draws to a 20. So now he just lost two bets by splitting his 7s. And he loses his bet, and then you've got the guy who decided to split his 10s, he loses one of them, he pushes one. He could have just stayed and whatever would have happened with the cards would have happened with the cards. But instead, now he loses money, and the guy who was aggressive with his soft 14, he ended up with this hard 12, he ends up losing as well. So, these are a lot of mistakes that a lot of players make that I like to try to help you guys avoid, because mistakes like that cost you money, and then it swings the odds even further in the house's favor.

Like these Gambling Lessons !!! Check out the official app http://apple.co/1HCxrup Watch more How to Gamble at Casinos videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/511508-How-to-Bet-in-Blackjack-Gambling-Tips Like other blackjack strategies, there's an art to knowing how to bet properly. In this video, a gambling expert explains how to do just that. Follow his advice and watch your chips pile up. Hey guys. I just wanted to go over blackjack betting. A lot of times you have a lot of people who they have their methods or systems or whatever they want to call it on how to bet. There are a couple of right ways to do it. There are a couple of wrong ways to do it. I am going into a few of the methods and you can use whatever is comfortable for you. First up, you have a lot of people who do what is called flat betting. They're in for $100 and thinking it doesn't matter what happens, win or lose they are betting $100 every time, like $100, $100, $100. A lot of times what you get also are people who they use a system, a really popular one, called the Martingale System where basically you bet $100 and then say you lose the bet and then you follow that up with a bet of $200. Then if you lose that bet then you follow that up with a bet of $400. That requires you to have a whole lot of money, one, and then two if you end up with a whole string of loses then you are wiped out. I wouldn't recommend that. Instead, I would recommend two ways. The simple way would be to use a high/low betting system. Say if you are betting $100, you win your hand then the next bet you go to $200. $100 is your low. $200 is your high, as you keep winning $200, once you lose a hand you go back down to $100. That way you're trying to maximize the amount of money that you actually have out there while you are winning and minimizing money while you are losing. I just use the $100, $200 as an example. For lower limits if you are betting $10, you could make that spread as wide as you like. Whatever is going to make you feel comfortable. If you want to bet $10 and say you win, then you go to $50. Then you keep playing $50 until you lose then you go back to $10. That's entirely up to you if you want to try it that way. The way I personally play, I do progressive betting. What that does basically is it maximizes on streaks that tend to happen in the game. If things are going really well then I just keep betting and betting and betting. One of the things with that, say if I'm betting $50 a hand, if I win two bets in a row, then I start going up. I go to $75. Then I'll go to $100. Then I'll go to $150. Then I go to $200. Then I go to $300. The whole methodology behind this is that even if I could win all of these hands in a row. I bet $400. If I were to lose, then I lose the $400 right here, but then this is all profit. Then I would start back at $50 and then kind of work my way back up again. I find that to be a very powerful system that works very well. As far as your limits, a lot of times people are comfortable at a lot of lower limit players will stop at $50. $50 is considered a big hand. So, what a lot of times what people will do, people get up to $50 and start flat betting at $50. If that's what you are comfortable with then that's fine. Once you're done, once you lose, then you drop down. Personally, I just keep going until I am into betting thousands, $2000, $3000. That's all personal preference there. That's how you bet in blackjack.
